How to Paint Olive Leaves

With Janelle:

It is very important to learn how to hold and load the brush in the paint and use varying pressures to create this effect.

  1. ROLL the brush in the paint.
  2. Varying the pressure from heavy to light, DRAG the brush out from the stem with a slight wave to make the leaves bend.
  3. To make the olives, load the brush with black paint and dip the tip of the brush into a light purple to give it dimension.

Use two strokes to make the olive like parenthesis (). Notice when Janelle loads the paint, the brush is at an angle, but when painting she holds it upright. Good luck!
